Happy Hari's Nag Champa Gold!!

ATTENTION all Nag Champa lovers

I can’t boast about the OM Nag Champas quality’s without mentioning the truly fantastic Happi Haris Nag Champa Gold!!  This is an incense primarily sold in Europe and almost unknown in the US. It made its way here about two years ago in a very limited distribution which is still that way. There are only a handful of dealers in the US that sell it. The only way to describe this incense is incredible.  It is made with real halmaddi resin which what gives Nag Champa its true aroma and its wonderfully rich scent. This incense goes glitter like gold. Each stick is rolled in sacred brass filings (these filings are from a brass god-statue factory). Making its appearance as rich as its aroma!

This is a MUST try for any Nag Champa aficionados.

Charcoal for burning resin incense

There are some great videos that give a very good method of burning loose resin and or herbs on charcoal. Using charcoal and resin or loose herbal incense can and will produce very appealing fragrances if done properly and safely. A word of caution: Do not under any circumstances use your bear fingers to light the charcoal. That is what charcoal tongs are for.

The other suggestion is the type of charcoal being used, there is a self-lighting type that contains chemicals to make it easier to light which is the most common type, and a hard wood or bamboo type which requires a little more effort and time. The choice is really yours. The bamboo charcoal or hardwood charcoal has no chemical additives. The bamboo charcoal takes a little longer to light and ash over but it will burn longer and much cleaner. You can use a candle or stove to light it. The easy light contains potassium nitrate to aid in the lighting process and there is a chemical odor, which seems to me to be defeating the purpose of burning a pure resin. Whatever type you do use is entirely up to you, however we do not sell the easy lite, only the hardwood type and most of which is manufactured in Japan.

No matter what type you choose safety is always the first concern, use charcoal tongs to light and move the burning coal, use a fire proof container and use sand or ash (ash is much preferred) to keep heat away from the container and allow the resin to smolder rather than burn. There is a good video on this blog but please keep these suggestions in mind…… Enjoy

OM Incense

Hi again, This is a little break from Mountain Naturals. I would like to share a truly wonderful Nag Champa Incense. This is a most outstanding classic Nag Champa that is crafted by Nitiraj, a highly respected maker of fine incense for many years. The blend for OM incense includes plumeria, sandalwood, halmaddi resin, and other exotic herbs and floras. The ingredient called Halmaddi is a costly ingredient that many makers omit because of price.  It is the secret to a premium Nag Champa. This incense is very similar to the original Nag Champa brands that were sold long ago. Each stick burns for approximately 1 hour. Give it a try you will not be disappointed.

Mountain Naturals ~ Patchouli

Mountain Naturals due in soon ... A couple of days of this post. I will be evaluating them as time permits. I am burning the Patchouli right now and it is as close to the natural aroma as I have experienced on a stick, very close to a pure essential oil aroma. If you’re a fan of patchouli you have to try this. The stick will burn for almost 2 hours, so it can be extinguish and used it again later. Peace to you all! roger

Mountian Naturals, pure and natural aromatic resin fragrances.

Natural unprocessed botanical resins are indeed the purest form of incense. Many thousands of years ago when humans began to harness the use of fire they began to realize that when various woods, oils, fruits, spices, dried flowers, barks and best of all the tree saps which we now call resin would produce at times a most pleasing and delightful aroma. This was the foundation of what we now call incense. The practice of burning certain resins can be found in the earliest written records of many cultures. The motives for burning resinous incense was usually for a mystical, spiritual or religious ceremony. The method for this is usually time consuming, requires considerable effort and the use of special tools to obtain the most pleasurable of aromas.

Few of us have the time nor the proper tools or knowledge to produce these remarkable aromas. The
Incense Works and the Incense Sampler have toiled for the best part of twelve years to discover an easier and more efficient way to bring these fragrances to you. Mountain Naturals Resin Sticks was their solution. Their goal was to bring you these aromas with full impact of the true resin aroma and all natural and specific botanical products. The raw resins and botanical ingredients go through up to six processes before being applied to the stick, using all natural essential oils. The sticks are then rolled in absolutely pure resins and botanical products to produce the final and outstanding product. The procedure is a complex one and very time consuming. The final result is a pure and simple all natural fragrance. The burn time is about 2 hours of clean and natural bliss of pure resin or botanical aroma simply by lighting a stick.
